Cookies for Cookie Exchange: Orange and Lemon Cookies

For a 10 year old's cookie exchange party.
Need to make 27 cookies sorted into 9 packets of 3 each!

Apparently the hostess conveyed, "Don't make the usual choclate chip and sugar cookies! Make something different"!
Pressed for time, I took the basic Cookie Press Recipe with flavours of Orange and Lemon through grated lemon and navel orange zest.
Shrink-wrapped it  and topped with velvet bows bought during last year's sale!

Ingredients for the basic Butter Cookie Recipe
Butter- 1 Cup
Sugar-1 Cup
Egg-1
Flour- 2- 2/12 Cups
Vanilla Essence- 2tsps
Salt-1/4 tsp
Lemon/ Orange Cookie Recipe
Reduce the amount of Vanilla Essence by 1 tsp.
Add 1 tbsp of grated Orange zest for the Orange Cookies.
Add 1tbsp of grated Lemon zest for the Lemon Cookies.
Method
Sift Flour and Salt together
In a large bowl cream the butter and sugar
Lightly beat the egg and add the vanilla essence
Add to the creamed mix. Stir  in the flour mix. Wrap in clingwrap and chill for at least an hour or more.
Pre heat Oven to 400 F and press the cookie dough onto ungreased baking trays.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges start turning golden brown. Cool on wire racks and store. Add a few grains of uncooked rice to keep the cookies fresh and crunchy.
Ready for Transportation!
