Broken Rose-Matta Rice
Nei-payasam to welcome the little one... with broken Rose-matta rice, coconut milk, jaggery, cardamom and ghee.
Broken red matta rice brings back favourite memories: of hot Kanji seasoned with rock salt and Ghee, and accompanied with tender mango pickle in brine, fresh coconut chutney, perhaps fried pappadums or kondattams, the early cooked dry vegetable or legume dish.
This dish was sweet and fragrant with all the traditional flavours to honor the little one.
