Jackfruit: Chakka Puzhukku

Jackfruit Curry: Chakka Puzhukku

3 Cups chopped raw jackfruit
1/2 Cup grated coconut
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
2-3 separate curry leaves
1/2 Cup grated coconut for garnish
1 tbsp Coconut Oil for garnish
Method
Cook the Jackfruit pieces with just enough water, adding hot water as needed.

As it comes up to a boil, add salt, curry leaves, turmeric powder and chilli powder and cook on medium heat until the pieces are cooked through.

Add the grated coconut and take off the heat.

Drizzle with coconut oil and garnish with fresh grated coconut.

Notes: Have not mashed the pieces  in this curry, leaving some texture. The traditional accompaniment to this dish was crushed fried pappadums!

  3. I have tried Jackfruit curry with pepper and coconut,must try this with chilli and coconut..Must be delicious....
